For our Recovery Patients:
A properly aligned spine may be another tool for battling substance abuse. Research indicates that when misalignments or subluxations occur in the spine, the proper function of neurotransmitters is interrupted. When these misalignments are corrected and the nerves are in correct order, neurotransmitters can be released in the right pattern. This contributes to a sense of calm that may help ward off drug cravings and aid in addiction recovery, helping patients in recovery stay the course. In contrast, when the spine is improperly aligned and pressure is applied to tissues, the chemicals known as neurotransmitters may be blocked or released in an incorrect pattern, thus inhibiting a sense of well-being.
In order for a recovering addict to regain proper neurotransmitter balance, chiropractors utilize a variety of techniques to manipulate the spine and other important skeletal, muscular and nerve features to restore perfect alignment. Once these areas are in alignment, neurotransmitters can start to flow normally and activate in the correct sequences.
When used in conjunction with other essential treatment services, chiropractic care in addiction recovery can be a tremendous benefit in re-establishing total body harmony.
During the initial assessment patients will receive a thorough physical evaluation to determine their needs – patients may also be referred to physical therapy as well as yoga and strength & conditioning groups as long as functional movement patterns and physical abilities allow.
For our General Population and Athletic Population:
Chiropractic adjustments work by helping to place your body in the proper position that then allows the body to heal itself. One of the key focuses of chiropractic care is realigning the spine and thereby reducing pressure placed on sensitive nerves, which can contribute to dysfunction of the central nervous system. Chiropractic can be a complementary medical approach to mainstream medicine as well, and it’s been proven to be one of the safest approaches to naturally and holistically treating patients with a wide range of symptoms or conditions, including: back or neck pain, sciatica, scoliosis, frozen shoulder, acid reflux or digestive issues, headaches, high blood pressure, injuries and neuromusculoskeletal complaints that may require surgery.
